Audi TraditionDonau Classic

Audi Tradition’s annual programme for 2009 was largely devoted to the “100 Years of Audi” anniversary celebrations. A large number of racing and classic cars from the Audi Tradition historic vehicle collection took part in more than 50 events. Details of the principal ones are given here.

Audi entered a large fleet in the 2009 Donau Classic rally for historic vehicles, which was held from June 18 - 20. Its main centre was Ingolstadt, from which the route led through the Donaumoos region, the valley of the Altmühl and the Hallertau hop-growing area. Various prominent personalities took part, notably Bavarian Prime Minister Horst Seehofer, Audi’s Board Chairman Rupert Stadler and the holder of two rally championship titles, Harald Demuth. (The classic cars taking part: a 1965 Audi 72, an Audi 80 “Rallye”, the “James Bond” Audi 200, two Audi 100 Coupé S models, one of the original Audi Ur-quattro cars, three Audi Sport quattros, a DKW 3=6, a Horch 930V and a Horch 830 BL.)
