Audi quattro Cup India finals in Hyderabad

Mumbai/ Hyderabad: Audi, the German luxury car manufacturer, has announced the finals of the Indian edition of Audi quattro Cup. The Audi quattro Cup ranks among the world’s major and most popular tournament series for amateur golfers.

Following an overwhelming response, the India leg of the Audi quattro Cup 2009, the globally renowned golf tournament, will conclude with the India finals in Hyderabad at The Boulder Hills Golf and Country Club on 3rd October 2009. The winners of the five city legs held earlier this year at Chandigarh, New Delhi, Pune, Mumbai and Bangalore, will compete against each other to enter the World Finals in Sydney in December 2009.

“Precision, performance, elegance and “Vorsprung durch Technik”: Audi and golfing have a lot in common,” said Benoit Tiers, Managing Director, Audi India. “After the tremendous response to the second season of the Audi quattro Cup in India, it will be exciting to see the best of amateur Indian golfers, battle for the opportunity to represent India at the global competition later this year,” he added.

The Audi quattro Cup 2009 saw participation from 550 golf enthusiasts across Chandigarh, New Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore. The winners of the finals at Hyderabad will represent India at the 19th Audi quattro Cup World Final in New South Wales Golf Club, Sydney, Australia, from December 14th to 18th, 2009.

Golf plays a central role in Audi’s engagement in worldwide sponsorship. Audi has been involved in golfing for almost two decades now. The Audi quattro Cup tournament series, established in 1991, has become one of the most celebrated amateur golf tournaments in the world. Last year, the tournament drew participation from 52 countries, with a total of 750 tournaments and 86,000 golfers from across the globe competing for the prestigious Audi quattro Cup.
