The Audi Q7 has been built in Bratislava since the end of 2005. In all, 47,769 of the Audi Q7 were built there in 2010. Its production is a genuine team effort by the Audi plant network: the body components are shipped from Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm, and the engines come from the Audi engine plant in Győr, Hungary.

AUDI AG builds its Audi Q7 model in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. The performance SUV is assembled from its many component parts by a workforce of around 1,300 at the state-of-the-art plant owned by Volkswagen Slovakia.
Production: everything revolves around body manufacturing
At the heart of production operations is the body shop, set up specifically for the Audi Q7. 220 steel and aluminium parts, 56 working cycles and over 3,400 weld points are needed to build each body. The conventional weld seams alone measure a total length of almost 100 metres. Laser-joined seams measuring more than six metres in length are also used on the body and the tailgate.
Assembly and transport
After they have been painted, the component parts are put together by the fitters. Separate assembly and testing rigs have been installed for the Audi Q7’s special equipment and electronics items. The assembly process comprises 165 steps. Around 760 assembly workers are supplied with components on a just-in-time basis. After assembly, every Audi Q7 completes a precisely defined driving programme on the 2.4 km oval asphalt track. The new cars are then dispatched to their new owners by train and truck.
