Audi India team bags 2nd place in the International Audi Twin Cup 2019 championship

Attains podium position third time in a row by grabbing second place in the ‘Twin’ category


• 29 countries participated along with the team from Audi India in the categories of ‘Technology’, ‘Service’ and ‘Twin’
• India has attained a podium position third time in a row. It won the first and second rank for the ‘Technology’ category respectively in the International Audi Twin Cup Championship 2017 and 2018
• The international championship took place in Mainz-Wiesbaden, Germany from 17th July to 19th July, 2019

Mumbai, July 22, 2019: Audi India, the German luxury car maker today announced that Audi India Team has bagged the 2nd place in the International Audi Twin Cup 2019 championship. With this win in the Twin category, a team from Audi India has garnered the podium position third time in a row. Audi India team had won the first and second rank for ‘Technology’ category in 2017 and 2018 respectively. 57 teams from 29 countries participated in the international Audi Twin Cup 2019 championship held in Mainz-Wiesbaden, Germany. During the two-day event, participants demonstrated their advisory skills and technical expertise in typical customer situations ranging from the check-in inspection to diagnosing hidden defects and carrying out repairs according to manufacturer specifications.

2019 marked the 15th time the Audi Twin Cup has been held with participants being judged on both practical skills as well as theory through a quiz. A total of nine awards were presented with winners being selected in the 1st to 3rd place in ‘Technology’, ‘Service’ and ‘Twin’ categories. The ‘Twin” category combines both Service and Technology and is therefore the most important one. The participants in this edition once again demonstrated a premium service mindset and team spirit to offer the Audi customers a superior and consistent service experience.

Increasingly individualized customer requirements, extensive digitalization and many other technological breakthroughs in our industry bring about fundamental changes in the after sales business. Therefore, teams competing in the Audi Twin Cup perform theoretical and practical exercises that reflect typical working situations at the dealership. A jury assesses both personal interaction with the customer and specialist expertise in the areas of diagnostics and repair.

“By delivering time and again on a framework moderated by AUDI AG, the teams from India have validated that the Audi service and technical knowledge in India is amongst the best level of service offered worldwide by Audi,” added Mr. Ansari.

In the ‘Twin’ category Japan bagged the top position, the second-place Indian team performed impressively. The service technicians and advisors from Australia followed on third place.

In the ‘Technology’ category, the team from Turkey performed impressively to win the first place, team from Finland stood second while the team from Canada took the third place. In the ‘Service’ category, Team Germany took the top position, followed by team Russia on the second place and team United Kingdom on the third place.

The top three countries in technology & service are awarded in the ‘Twin’ category. The remaining countries are evaluated on technology and service separately based on scores. Each team consists of maximum three members and a country can have maximum two teams in the competition.
