Field Campaign - 69BR - Replacing TAKATA driver airbag

The safety and comfort of our customers and long-term service life of our vehicles remain our top priorities at Audi. To ensure the same we conduct a programs to constantly monitor the quality of our products.

AUDI has been informed by Takata, previously one of its suppliers that upon deployment of the front airbag, there is a possibility that the gas generator housing, in which the propellant is generated could get damaged. This may cause small parts to get dislodged and may potentially cause injuries to the vehicle occupants.

There have been no reported instances of such an incident taking place in India as on date.

In order to give our customers the best of Audi experience, Audi Authorized Dealers will get in touch with 3132 customers of Audi A5 / Q5 across India and schedule an appointment at their workshop replacing gas generator for the driver airbag unit.

The activity is specific to 3132 cars of Audi A5 / Q5, which were manufactured from 2008 up to and including 2013.
The upgrade process would take approximately Two hours and will, of course, be performed free of charge to customer.
